“ Had a lovely lunch at Diego’s Tacos! I got the guacamole and chips and it tasted very fresh and I liked the presentation. My partner had the fish tacos and he said they were the best ones he’s had yet in Cozumel (and he’s tried about 6 different places so far). The atmosphere is really unique, the open dining area has a roof so it protects you from the harsh sunshine, and there are tons of lush trees and plants around, and it’s right beside a plant nursery. Great service as well. I highly recommended trying this place, especially if you find yourself near the Cozumel airport. ”

They were the best tacos I have ever had, and I am married to a Mexican and lived in San Antonio for seven years, so I have enjoyed some exceptional tacos. These quickly became my favorite. ”

“ Great experience, had two ice cold beers, chips and pico while we figured out how to get a fairly priced taxi. Update: We stopped on our way to our flight home, we had delicious shrimp tacos! Eric Segura, Diego’s son is an absolute joy, so friendly and happy. The portions were generous. All the salsas are homemade and the beer is fresh and ice cold. ”

You can tell there’s real pride behind what’s coming out of that kitchen. It’s clear that his father is smiling down on him. The love, tradition, and passion absolutely show in the food and the experience. We were only visiting while on vacation, but this is one of those places that sticks with you long after the trip is over. Now I’m back home trying to figure out how to find this level of greatness close to home. If you’re anywhere near here, don’t miss it. Truly special. ”
